Obituary of Margaret E. Pasteris
Margaret E. Pasteris, age 89, a lifelong resident of Joliet, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center, with her loving family by her side.
Born August 5, 1928 in Joliet, she was the daughter of the late Francis “Frank” and Elizabeth (nee Egan) Barton. She married Raymond Pasteris, and he preceded her in death on October 8, 2002. Two sisters, Lois (Donald) Blaser and Pat Balla also preceded her in death.
Margaret was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, the Council of Catholic Women and the 55 Club. She was also an active volunteer at her church and for the Shepherd’s Table Soup Kitchen, where she was named Volunteer of the Year. She also loved to bowl.
Margaret will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She will never be forgotten.
Surviving are her loving children, Robert (the late Debra) Pasteris of Joliet, Richard (Linda) Pasteris of Joliet, and Anna Pasteris of Chicago; five grandchildren, Anthony Pasteris, Emily Pasteris, Christina (James “Nick”) Jackson, Matthew (Sharon) Pasteris, and Joseph (fiancé Amanda) Pasteris; nine great-grandchildren, Nicole, Hailey, Paige, Aiden, Cooper, Piper, Willow, Marshall, and Kyeleigh; one sister, Louise (the late Emmett) Wendell of Joliet; a brother-in-law, Clarence Balla of Joliet; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Margaret Pasteris will be held Friday, May 4, 2018 at 8:45 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet, to Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home, where she had made her home the past several years, and where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
