Obituary of Sarah D. Drzazinski
Sarah D. Drzazinski
(nee Belfiore)
Age 90, of Shorewood, IL and formerly Burbank, IL, passed away peacefully with family surrounding her on Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, IL. She was born on July 12, 1927, to the late Salvatore and Angelina (nee Recite) Belfiore, in Chicago, IL, where she was raised and educated.
Sarah was the beloved wife of 64 years to Steven W. Drzazinski; loving mother of Deborah (Anthony) Miranda of Shorewood, Steven Drzazinski of Florida, Angela Martin of Frankfort, IL, and Edward (Donna) Drzazinski of Florida; devoted grandmother of Christopher (Joanna) Miranda, Brad (Gina) Miranda, Crystal and Brooke Drzazinski, Joseph Martin, Jessica (Bryan) Johnston and Brittany Martin, and Eddie, David and Erik Drzazinski; proud great-grandmother of Maya, Benjamin and Bella, Vincent and Sofia, and Harper and Hudson; and godmother of Karl (Randi) Wash. Several generations of nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.
Sarah and Steven’s love affair was nothing short of storybook. Their love for each other grew stronger as time marched on. She could only let go late Wednesday evening after hearing Steven’s reaffirming voice assuring her he would be alright.
Grandma Sarah’s warmth and hospitality will forever be cherished, as will her childhood stories that she shared with all of her grandkids over the years. Her home was full of love and she seemed to always be standing over the stove commanding a perfect sauce to go with her pasta. Homemade Italian was the special of the day, every day. There was no way you could leave her home without being full-always another ravioli; right, Joey?
She will be sorely missed, yet always remembered.
Visitation for Sarah D. Drzazinski will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 1:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Interment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
