Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Leaman
Mary Elizabeth Leaman, (nee Hetzel), age 41, late of Shorewood, and formerly of Joliet, passed away Friday, May 25, 2018 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home, with her loving family by her side, following a courageous battle with cancer which she fought fearlessly for nine months.
Born February 19, 1977 in Joliet, she was the daughter of William H. and Pamela Ann (nee Schwingle) Hetzel.
Mary was a graduate of Joliet Catholic Academy and the University of St. Francis. She worked for Jewel Food Stores for nearly 20 years, most recently as a store director.
Mary was a loving and devoted wife and mother whose passion was spending time with her girls. She loved to vacation in the warm climates, especially with her family on Anna Maria Island, Florida.
Surviving are her beloved husband, Ronald W. “Ron” Leaman of Shorewood; two loving daughters, Brooke and Brenna; her mother-in-law, Jane Leaman of Plainfield; her husband’s siblings, Christine (Michael) Sicinski and Robert (Nahrin) Leaman, all of Plainfield; special niece and nephew, Abby and Jon Sicinski; several aunts and uncles; and a lifelong friend, Jaime Wilda.
She was preceded in death by her mother in 1979, her father in 2011, and her father-in-law, Gerald Leaman in 2001.

Funeral services for Mary Leaman will be held Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet, to Holy Family Catholic Church, 600 N. Brookforest Drive, Shorewood, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville. In lieu of flowers, memorials to a fund for the benefit of her children would be appreciated. Visitation will be held Wednesday, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
