Obituary of Thomas V. Lovati
Thomas V. "Tommy" Lovati, age 61, of Joliet, passed away suddenly, Sunday, June 17, 2018 at his home.
Born July 20, 1956 in Joliet, he was the son of the late Thomas P. and Mary S. (nee DiDesiderio) Lovati, and was a graduate of Joliet Township Central High School. He worked as a Journeyman Ironworker for Local #444.
Tom loved Mopar cars, motorcycles and drag racing, but nothing was more important to him than his family. He was a devoted and caring brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle and godfather. He will be remembered for always being happy, his distinctive laugh, and giving of himself to his extended family.
Surviving are his beloved brother and sister, Kenneth Lovati and Karen (Robert) Mattas, both of Joliet; his nephews and niece, Rob (Brenda) Mattas, Bryan Mattas, Brent (Mary) Mattas, Russell (Trichelle) Mattas and Tricia (Scott) Samuelson; and his great nieces and great nephews, Robbie, Bailey, Colby, Kylie, Austin, Leia, Nick, William, Logan, Grace, Audry and Molly.
Funeral services for Thomas Lovati will be held Friday, June22, 2018 at 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet, to the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus for Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
