“Sis”
Age 92, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 30, 2018, at Symphony of Joliet Nursing Home. She was born in Chicago, IL, on June 28, 1926, the daughter of the late Frank and Victoria (nee Uniewski) Janicki. Vivian married her beloved husband, John, on April 9, 1944. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, playing the slot machines and was always full of jokes.
Vivian is survived by her loving husband of 74 years, John W. Baytala; three sons, Mark (Darlene) Baytala, Glenn (Sandy) Baytala and Gordon (Lisa) Baytala; six grandchildren, Dawn (Daryl) Chiletz, Michael (Mercedes), Eric (Sylvia), Matthew (fiancé Miriam Oraha), Ashleigh and Kyle Baytala; six great grandchildren, Jaiden, Deagan, Merik, Grayson, Quinn and Amal; and brother, David (Juanita) Janicki. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded by her parents and three brothers, Leonard, Richard and Frank Janicki.
Visitation for Vivian “Sis” Baytala will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2018, from 3:00-8:00 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Mary Catholic Church, 303 W. St. Mary’s St., Minooka, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Justice.
