Obituary of Patricia Ann Leonard Allen
Patricia Ann Leonard Allen
“Patty”
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Patricia Ann Leonard Allen, on Tuesday, July 31, 2018. She was born on May 22, 1958, the daughter of Thomas and Ann (nee Nachtegall) Leonard. A warm, caring and generous individual, she is blessed with a loving family, her husband Glenn and her three children Colleen, Bridget and Connor. A graduate of Marquette University (1980), and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (1982), Patty dedicated over 36 years to Speech Pathology, helping children in Illinois schools spending most of her career at the Jamie McGee School in Bolingbrook. Her passions included gardening, reading, quilting, and photo scrapbooking for the family. In contrast to her more sedate hobbies, Patty enjoyed sailing adventures on Lake Michigan and crossing the Atlantic Ocean in her father’s 40 foot sailboat. She also loved visiting Santa Fe and took several trips to the southwest.
She was dedicated to her family traditions, including yearly neighborhood Christmas parties, Easter egg hunts, trips to the family cottage in MI, and apple picking in the fall.
Patty is survived by her husband, Glenn; children, Colleen (Josh) Street, Bridget (Diego) Enriquez and Connor; beloved grandchildren, Lucas and Lincoln; and her siblings, Sarah, William (Shauna), Joan (Donald) Short, Maryellen (Daniel) Schwartz, and Michael (Stacy).
She is preceded by her father, Thomas; mother, Ann; and brother, Steve.
