Joan Marie Osmus

Joan Marie Osmus, age 88, of Owensboro, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at Hermitage Care and Rehab Center.  A long-time resident of Plainfield, Illinois, she was born September 25, 1929, in Joliet, Illinois.  She was a graduate of Joliet Township High School, Class of 1948.

Joan is survived by three daughters, Lori (Robert) Kappmeyer of Ames, Iowa, Landra Osmus of Tucson, Arizona, and Linda (David, Jr.) Rudd of Crest Hill, Illinois.  She is also survived by one grandson, Christopher Stonich, one great-grandaughter, Hailey Rose Kopac, of Tucson, Arizona; and several nieces and nephews, and her beloved caregiver, Jennifer Crabtree.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Leonard Lewis Osmus, whom she married on January 31, 1951; her parents, Raymond and Ella (nee Steinbach) Gatons; and her brothers, Paul and Robert Gatons.

Joan was employed as an artist at Greetings, Inc. and at the Atlas Wallpaper Mill, in Coal City, Illinois.  She has written many poems for friends and family.

Visitation for Joan Marie Osmus will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Services at 11:00 a.m., at the Fred C.
