Obituary of Joseph Anthony DeJohns
Joseph Anthony DeJohns, age 22, of Boston, MA, and formerly of Plainfield, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 4, 2018 in Boston, from injuries sustained in a fall.
Born June 24, 1996 in Hinsdale, IL, he was a graduate of Wesmere Elementary, Drauden Point Middle School, and Plainfield South High Schools. He attended North Central College in Naperville, and was enrolled at Berklee College of Music in Boston, pursuing his professional music dream.
A loving son and devoted big brother, Joey was an accomplished and talented musician mastering numerous musical instruments. He was a humble and peace loving person whose gentle spirit will never be forgotten by his family and many friends. He loved family dinners and vacations with his family in Clearwater Beach, FL, neither of which will ever be the same without him.
On Wednesday, August 15, 2018, Joey's parents were notified that Berklee College of Music will be awarding Joey an honorary Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance.
Surviving are his beloved parents, Joseph A. and Laura (nee Pasquale) DeJohns of Plainfield, IL; his brother, Sammy, and sisters, Tressa and Mia; his grandparents, Joseph “Tony” DeJohns of Mt. Prospect, IL, and Jack and Pat Pasquale of Darien, IL; his aunts and uncles, Sandi and Bill Billings, Diane and Richard Krisky, Frank DeJohns and Kathy Brooks, Susan and Anthony Butcher, and Christopher and Laura Pasquale; and many cousins and dear friends.
He was preceded by his grandmother, Nancy DeJohns.
A Mass of Resurrection for Joseph Anthony DeJohns will be celebrated Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., at St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 15629 S. Rt. 59, Plainfield, IL.
