Obituary of Wesley E. Mallady

Wesley E. Mallady, age 64, of Shorewood, passed away peacefully, Thursday, August 29, 2018 at home, surrounded by his loving family.

Born January 16, 1954 in Elgin, IL, he was the son of Maryland and Patricia (nee Boone) Mallady, and was a graduate of St. Charles High School.  Wesley worked for Mack Trucks for over 30 years, retiring as Parts Manager.

Wes enjoyed golfing, doing home improvement projects, traveling, and taking weekend adventures.  He was the proud owner of “Emma Lou”, his 1959 Chevrolet Apache pickup truck, and loved attending car shows with his brother.  He will be remembered for his generous nature and his willingness to volunteer his help to his family and friends.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 29 years, Caroline J. (nee Novak) Mallady of Shorewood; his children, Rita (Roger) Thorton of New Jersey, Michael (Lindsey) Ross of Bloomington, Cassandra Mallady of Chicago, and William (Catlin) Mallady of Carbondale, CO; three grandchildren, Maggie, Amelia and Katharine; one brother, William (the late Shari) Mallady of St. Charles; one sister, Debra (Dan) Isham of Kaneville; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Marilyn Mallady.

Visitation for Wesley Mallady will be held Tuesday, September 4, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.  Cremation rites will be accorded following services and interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
