Obituary of Douglas Michael Pittman
Douglas Michael Pittman passed away unexpectedly on September 10, 2018 at Rush Medical Center in Chicago at the age of 41, with his family by his side. Doug was born in Springfield, IL on November 8, 1976 to David and Katherine (nee Biernat) Pittman. Formerly from the suburbs of Des Moines, IA, he relocated to Naperville, IL. Doug was a graduate of Naperville Central High School, received his Bachelors Degree in Speech Communication from Eastern Illinois University, and his Masters Degree in Organizational Leadership and Training Development from Lewis University. Doug was employed as a Processor Advanced with First Advantage in Bolingbrook for the past 17 years.
Although he was big in stature, his heart was bigger. Doug’s love for animals led him to his volunteer work with Help Save Pets, a local animal rescue that was very dear to him. He sought comfort in audio books, listening to Garth Brooks, playing video games, and cuddling with his three cats. But the time he spent with his wife, Heather, was what he cherished the most.
Doug is survived by his loving wife, Heather (nee Porter) Pittman; his parents, David and Katherine Pittman; grandmother, Violet Engstrom; and siblings, David (Candace) Pittman and Kevin (Natalie) Pittman. He is the uncle of Kailey and Dylan Schoepf and David and Jackie Pittman. Numerous aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
He is preceded by his grandparents, David Walter and Kathryn Pittman, and Frank J. Biernat; and his father-in-law, Richard Green.
A Memorial Gathering for Douglas Michael Pittman will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2018, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1310 Shepherd Dr, Naperville, IL. As it was his request, cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial contributions in his name to Help Save Pets, 24020 W. Riverwalk Ct., Plainfield, IL 60544.
