Obituary of Gustav George
Gustav George passed away at the age of 80 on Friday, September 14, 2018, at Edward Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Gus was born on March 11, 1938, the son of Mack and Mabel (nee Stanley) George. He grew up in Chicago and relocated to Bolingbrook in 1961 where he planted his roots and raised his family with the love of his life, Georgiana. A hardworking man, Gus established Bolingbrook Construction Company, Inc. in 1972 and has been the proud owner for the past 47 years. He was an avid golfer and a regular at Hollywood Casino, where he loved to sit and play a game of poker or two. Gus liked to start his day getting motivated at Lifetime Fitness. Above all, he was a devoted family man. He had a special bond with his grandsons; he was their biggest fan on the sidelines of every one of their sporting events. But nothing was more important to him than spending time with great grandkids. His presence will be missed by everyone who knew him.
Gus is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Georgiana (nee Habasek) George; his daughter, Christine (Kevin) Voda; daughter-in-law, Julie George; grandchildren, Kevin (Heather) Voda, Kyle Voda, Kody Voda, Sammy (Ernesto) Esparza, and Kimmy (Kyle) Whisenhunt; great grandchildren, Mayson and Kennedy Voda; and his sister, Colleen (George) Mitchell. Nieces and nephews also survive.
He is preceded by his parents; son, Anthony George; grandson, Brian Wegner; and his brother, Richard (Gina) George.
