Dear Yvonne and Family
I have so many wonderful memories of your family and seeing you both at daily Mass and taking your walks around the neighborhood and sometimes at BRC . You were always an inspiration to John & I. Dave will be greatly missed but I will hold you all in my thoughts and prayers as we continue to walk our paths here while Dave and John behold the face of God.

Our warmest condolences to you and your family, Yvonne, on the passing of your dear husband and father. My wife Jill and I had been praying for Dave's recovery from his illness, but the Lord wanted to bring Dave home to him.
In good weather Dave and Yvonne would usually walk several blocks down Raynor Avenue to 8 a.m. Mass at the Cathedral of St. Raymond. In the summer Jill and I and, the rest of the year, just I would often greet the Callans as we too walked from our house on N. Raynor to the cathedral. Dave would always greet us or me with a warm, friendly smile and the twinkle in his eye that someone else mentioned in her tribute. Dave and Yvonne would always sit in the front pew to the right of the altar as you face the altar. It was always good to see Dave and Yvonne together, for you could see without a doubt that they love each other and are a good husband and wife to each other--an inspiration to all married couples and everyone else.
Dave was always very proud of his children and would tell me about them.
We have now lost two faithful Catholics who attended 8 a.m. Mass at the cathedral almost every day, Jim Fay (and his wife Peg) and Dave. Dave, you are in our prayers. I know that the Lord has welcomed you home and said to you, "Well done, good and faithful servant. Come now and enter into your eternal reward."

The first time we met Dave & Yvonne was a night our daughter, Rhonda, invited us to meet her boyfriend, Mike Callans, whose band was playing. He had longer, curly, hair with a bandana. Little did I know then that he would become her awesome husband, and our # 1 son in law and she would be a part of this amazing family who over the years we have came to love dearly. We love each and every one of you and you have our deepest sympathy.
Ron & Joann

Mr. Callans was the kindest man I've ever known. He always had a twinkle in his eye, much like his daughter, Nancy. You couldn't help but smile and be cheerful in his company. We pray for his soul and for the strength and peace for his family. Love, The Lanos
