Michael Raymond Meloy, Sr.

Age 41, touched the face of God on Tuesday, October 23, 2018.  He was born on November 1, 1976 in Berwyn.  

Michael is survived by his loving wife, Kristie (nee Simpkins) Meloy; children, Jonathan, Logan, Michael, Jr. and Aubrey; parents, Mark A. (Suzanne) Meloy and Margaret A. (Paul) Dowda; siblings, Melissa (Gregory) Pytlak, Monique (Scott) Tyrrell, Maghann (Erik) McDaniel, Bradley Dowda, Jessica (Michael) Flores and David Cronin; son-in-law of Donna (Hank) Hedrick; grandmother, Joan Bertucci; and brother-in-law of Barbara Ledcke and Marcy (Wally) Brown.  Many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive.

Michael proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps.  He enjoyed flying airplanes, hockey and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Blackhawks fan, but his most cherished time was spent with his wife, children and family.

He was preceded by his grandparents, Edward Fickett, Urban and Josephine Meloy and Delores Dowda.

Visitation for Michael Meloy will be held on Monday, October 29, 2018, from 3:00 until 9:00 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet.  Funeral services Tuesday, at 9:15 a.m., from the funeral home chapel to Holy Family Catholic Church, 600 Brook Forest Ave., Shorewood, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.  Interment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery where full military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the United States Marine Corps and the Abraham Lincoln Memorial Squad.  In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to the family would be appreciated.  For more information, please call 815-741-5500 or visit his Memorial Tribute at www.fredcdames.com
