If there is anything that stood out about Alvin, it's that he would do whatever he could to help someone out. In the 19+ years I've known him he has done much for St. Bernard's Church, and the K of C. It was a very common thing for Alvin to go into a store and strike up a conversation with a stranger in line at the checkout, or tell a corny joke and you couldn't help but smile - or roll your eyes. He has always treated me like part of the family, and even though he was my father in-law I respected and cared about him as I would my own father. I will miss him for a very long time to come, knowing that in time we will meet again. God speed, Alvin, and thank you so much for allowing me to be part of your life.
I miss my Dad already. I'm so used to talking to him and Mom all the time, since we live next to each other. This is REALLY hard when your parents are so close and important in your life as mine are to me. I hope this pain will ease with time...
