Obituary of Gregory J. Zagar

Gregory J. Zagar, age 30, passed away suddenly on Sunday, October 28, 2018.  He was born in Joliet, the son of Martin and Rosa (nee DiSera) Zagar, and was a lifelong resident.  Greg graduated from Joliet Central High School with the Class of 2006 and received his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Accounting Science from the University of Illinois.  He was employed as a CPA for Landauer, Inc. of Glenwood, IL.  Greg was on the Board of Directors of Agape Missions, NFP and provided them with accounting services.  He enjoyed snowboarding, wakeboarding, traveling, hiking, attending concerts, playing his guitar and being amongst friends.

Greg is survived by his parents, Martin and Rosa Zagar of Joliet; his two sisters, Lisa (Chris) Vitas of Shorewood and Teresa Zagar of Chicago; three brothers, Michael Zagar, Matthew Zagar and Jeffrey Zagar all of Joliet; nephew, Benjamin Vitas; niece, Emma Vitas; maternal grandmother, Inivola DiSera of Joliet; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends, including Sandy.

He was preceded by his maternal grandfather, Rainiero DiSera and paternal grandmother, Dorothy Knowles.

Visitation for Greg Zagar will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2018, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet.  Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:15 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 18 Woodlawn Ave., Joliet, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will follow at Mt.
