Louis A. Egizio
Age 93. Passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center. Born October 27, 1914 in Joliet, he was the son of Joseph and Mary Ann (nee Brandolino) Egizio, and was a lifelong resident. He served as Master Sergeant with the U. S. Army during World War II, and was a 31 year member of the Harwood American Legion Post #5. He worked as a commercial artist for the Army Procurement and Supply Agency, and later for Uniroyal.
He was a loving husband and an incredible father, and was dearly loved by all his grandchildren. He will be missed forever.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 50 years, Filomena (nee Maurizio) Egizio; one son, Michael (Cathy) Egizio of Joliet; two daughters, Mary Lou (David) Catalani and Karen (late Yanto) Hughes, both of Joliet; eight grandchildren, Sandra and Louis Egizio, Traci, Ashlee and Cory Catalani, and Nicole, Adriana and Vinnie Hughes; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his parents, three brothers, and one sister.
Funeral Services for Louis A. Egizio will be Monday, December 24, 2007 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, where military rites will be accorded.
