Timothy Heimer

Obituary of Timothy D. Heimer

Timothy D. Heimer
          “Tim”

At the age 58 years, Tim went to Rush University Medical Center for a routine medical device inspection procedure on Thursday, and was admitted. On Friday, November 30, 2018 he went home to the Lord.  We are devastated by this unexpected loss, however we take solace that he is in heaven and without pain.  Born in Ottawa, on September 6, 1960, Tim lived most of his life in Channahon.  He was a member of the IBEW Local 176 for 38 years and taught their fiber optics class for several years. Tim was a trustee for the Village of Channahon for four years and a member of the Chanooka Braves board for four years.

Tim devoted his life to his wife, children, and grandchildren, and got great joy and fulfillment from spending time with them. Tim loved to hunt and fish in which he took several trips to Canada fishing with his boys. Until Tim’s disabling job injury prevented him from doing so, Tim coached his sons in soccer and baseball.  He was the man you could always count on to be there at a moment’s notice when you needed a hand. Even after his injury 20 years ago left him permanently disabled, Tim’s strong sense of service to help others did not stop him. To the best of his abilities with his limitations, he still was there to help anyone in whatever way he could.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Betty Heimer (nee Huff); brothers, Jim, Darrell, and Dave Heimer; and his mother-in-law, Darlene (nee Fisher) Boyle.

He is survived by his wife, Denise (nee Boyle) Heimer, to whom he was devoted throughout their 39.6 years of marriage; his four beloved sons, Eric, Nicholas (Jill), Dr. Kyle (Stephanie), and Gabriel Heimer; as well as his seven adored grandchildren, John, Sarah, Natalie, Grayson, Nathaniel, Norah and Emilia Heimer.  He is also survived by his four brothers, Larry (Mariko), Mike (Nicky), Jerry (Vicki), and Jeffrey (Emily); along with his father-in-law, Leo Boyle; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, hard work and the importance of service to others. He leaves those who loved and knew him with a lifetime of fun, happy memories.

Funeral services for Tim Heimer will be held on Friday, December 7, 2018, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home located at 3200 Black at Essington Rds, Joliet, IL 60431, at 8:00 p.m., with Pastor Aaron Koehler officiating.
