Janice Fagan
Janice Fagan, age 72, left us on Friday, December 14, 2018 peacefully at her home in Morris IL.
Janice was born on November 14, 1946 in Joliet, IL to Genevieve (nee Sass) Fuller.
She graduated Joliet Central High School and went on to beauty school and worked many years at Cindy’s Beauty Salon.
She married her childhood sweetheart, Frank Briddick, and had 2 beautiful children. Later, Janice and Frank bought and ran Hot Dog Express restaurant, also known as H.D. Express, in Ingalls Park, Joliet. People loved to come in for the food and her beautiful smile. They nicknamed her the “Hot Dog Lady”
She loved to do many things. Many of her summers were spent with family at Lily Cache Rod and Gun Club to go camping and fishing. She played on a women’s softball league that she sponsored. She also enjoyed many hobbies including strumming her guitar and singing at the kitchen table and making her porcelain dolls.
Janice lost her first husband in 1987. But quite of few years later she was able to find love again with her second husband, Mike Fagan.
Mike swept her off her feet and gave her a life that some women would dream of. They bought some land in Morris and together built a beautiful log cabin home. Date night would be them going out to dinner and a movie together, or quiet nights in front of the fireplace.
She was a very loving and caring Mother, Wife, and Friend and will truly be missed.
She is survived by her loving husband, Michael “Mike” Fagan; one daughter, Lesley Briddick Moriarity; one sister, Jane Blackwell; her grandchildren, Rory (Donna) Moriarity, Frank III (Jessica) Briddick, Kegan (Aryon) Briddick, Drake (Dodge) Moriarity, Camden Briddick, Kilee Moriarity, Hunter Thomas and Easton Moriarity; her great-grandchildren, Kairi Alteri, Maverick Briddick, King Moriarity, and Thea Briddick; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by her mother, Genevieve Fuller; stepfather, Owen (Dee) Fuller; husband, Frank Briddick Sr.; son, Frank Jr.; and daughter-in-law, Stormy Briddick; and brother, Jim Breen.
Visitation for Janice Fagan will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 1201 W. Route 6 at Deerpath Drive, Morris, IL. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., at the funeral home. A Committal service will be held at 11:30 a.m., at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 23060 W. Jefferson Street, Joliet, where family and friends will meet directly at the Interment Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Vitas Hospice would be appreciated.
