Obituary of Walter Anderson
Anderson, Walter A.
Age 68, of Shorewood, and formerly of Bolingbrook, Romeoville and Oak Lawn, passed away Monday, July 2, 2012 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home.
Born December 4, 1943 in Evergreen Park, he was the son of Walter A. and Adaline M. (nee Schroeder) Anderson. Walter was the CEO of Illinois Collection Services Company. He was active in several clubs at Shorewood Glen, and enjoyed an interest in genealogy.
He is survived by his four step-children, Cindy (Mickey) Dotson of Romeoville, Gerald (Marilyn) Richards of Carbondale, Cheryl (Thomas) Morgenroth of Minooka, and Jeffrey (Delia) Richards of Elk Grove Village; nine grandchildren, Dawn Morgenroth, Brian Hickey, Shannon Nunn, Thomas (Sarah) Morgenroth, Sean Nunn, Meghan Richards, Zane Richards, Brooke Oko, and Kaden Richards; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Chuck (Linda) Anderson of Peach Tree City, GA; one sister, Judith (Herb) Kalkaitis of Germantown, TN; one sister-in-law, Sally Culhane of Lockport; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Walter is also survived by his significant other, Judy Somacal; godchild, Joe Steg; very special friends Kelly Bushur, Tom Zimmerman, and Laura and Bob Tomlinson; the Shorewood Glen neighbors and friends; and all his camping friends at Woodhaven Lakes.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 41 years, Jeanne M. (nee Keeley) Anderson (August 1, 2010), his parents; one sister, Doris Jean Anderson; his wife's parents, Thomas and Dorothy G. Keeley; and brother-in-law, Thomas R. Keeley, Jr.
The family wishes to gratefully acknowledge the kindness and care provided by JOHA and its employees especially Dr. Gustafson, his caregivers at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center and Joliet Area Community Hospice.
Funeral Services for Walter A. Anderson will be Friday, July 6, 2012 at 4:30 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Joliet Area Community Hospice or Shorewood Police Department Shop with a Cop Program would be appreciated. Visitation Friday from 3-8 p.m. at:
