Oscar L. Escalante, Jr.
Age 52, of Braidwood, IL, passed away suddenly at his home on Monday, January 7, 2019. He was born on June 9, 1966 in Sonora, TX to the late Sulema Lozano and Oscar Escalante, Sr.
Surviving are two sons, Joshua Escalante and Jason Escalante; his father, Oscar (Maria Bonedina) Escalante, Sr.; and three sisters, Veronica (Jeff) Thompson, Patricia Corrales and Lori (Floyd) Bradshaw. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sulema.
Oscar was a member of Local #597 for 32 years and a proud pipefitter. He truly enjoyed his work and could be considered a pro because of his belief in doing a job right. He will also be remembered as a dedicated family man and a selfless individual who would help anyone, anytime. Other interests include UFC Boxing, reading, working out and classic rock.
Visitation for Oscar L. Escalante, Jr. will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet, IL, from 4:00 p.m. until a service of remembrance at 8:00 p.m. As it was Oscar’s request, cremation rites will be accorded following services.
