Oh my God . I am so sorry for our families loss. I just happened to come across this announcement five minutes before writing this. Please except my most heartfelt condolences. I have many fond memories of Cousin Charlie. One of my favorites is how he got me involved in the “ Young Republicans “ the moment I turned 18 . Also my father Dan would keep us out of school on Election Day to pass out Charlie’s literature. Such fond memories of family picnics and driving Cousin Mugs Volkswagen Bettle around at the rip old age of 12 . I must add this last thought. I was always very proud to mention Cousin Charlie’s name and the Williams’ family name in the same breath. His reputation for kindness and respect for both family and community should never be brought to question. God bless Cousin Charlie and all of the Aunts, Uncles and Cousins I have been fortunate to have been raised with. Thank you, Love, Kevin

My sympathy to the Connor Family and Mrs. Connor: Darcy's Notre Dame friends always found generosity and a full table of delicious food and an abundance of loving family, as your guests in both Joliet and at Beverly Shores. You were all to be admired and we ND girls wished to emulate the beautiful family you created. You were ahead of your time. The Judge, the Mayor, the big, strong dad. It was a honor to be in his presence. I hope he joins my dad in the heavenly bar association. That generation of Irish lawyers was one of kind. God give you peace and joy in your memories and hope in his faith and yours. We are sorry we cannot be there to say goodbye but we thank you for the good times and positive example. Much love, Megan Boyle and family, Trish and Kirt Bjork and family

My heart is broken. Charlie was, without a doubt, the greatest man I ever knew. I was blessed to have him as my cousin. I will always love him.
I am so sorry for Alice and his children and Muggs for the loss of Charlie.

My condolences to the family. As a young lawyer I knew him as a man of great integrity. He set a high standard of conduct and was highly respected. It was a honor to know him.

I remember the elevation of Charles Connor from Associate to Circuit Judge. At the swearing-in ceremony, in his remarks (which were characteristically brief), he said, "Don't let the Code of Civil Procedure get in the way of doing the right thing." Charlie was always true to his own maxim. Honest, direct, sometimes blunt, never cruel--a judge's judge and a man's man. With many people who pass you might pray that they rest in peace yet have your doubts. With Charlie there was never a doubt.

Uncle Charlie, a good and kind man. He loved fiercely. See you again in Heaven someday, and praying that you and Matt are having a good time catching up... perhaps sailing, farming, or arguing over the best way to fix something.

I am sad to hear of Charlie's passing. He was a kind and loyal friend to my Dad, George. I loved to hear him tell stories and reminisce about their antics in the early years in the "old neighborhood" with my Dad, Uncle Fritz and their other buddies. Charlie made sure to include my Dad in the "old guys" Tuesday lunch in recent years driving him back and forth from Our Lady Of Angels where my Dad lived. Those lunches meant the world to my Dad. Charlie was generous with his time and spirit. He will be deeply missed.

Charlie was my best friend since we were 15 years old. Drove across the country with him 3 times. Amazingly, he died on the same date in the same place as my mother only 17 years later. He had enormous integrity and was the most interesting man I’ve ever met. I loved him.
