Wanda Rosella Stirniman

Age 92, of Joliet, passed away peacefully Friday, February 15, 2019, at home surrounded by her loving family. Born January 8, 1927 to the late Peter and Mabel (nee Shadel) Keller in Brooklyn, IA, where she was raised and was a graduate of Brooklyn High School. She received her RN Certificate and retired from Broadlawn Hospital in Des Moines, IA. Wanda and her husband, James, raised their family in Channahon, IL, eventually retiring to Bella Vista, AR for nearly 25 years, before returning to the Joliet area. She enjoyed reading, gardening, sewing, playing bridge and golf.
Wanda is survived by her nine loving children, Catherine (Bob) Malin, Robert Stirniman, Mary Jean (Pete) Betts, James A. (Sue) Stirniman, Patricia (Robert) Meiryfield, Jane Harris, John (Nancy) Stirniman, Michael (Eva) Stirniman and Julia (late Jack) Kern; proud grandmother of numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Virginia Gardner; and brother, Laurel Keller. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James P. Stirniman (March 20, 2013); son, Mark; granddaughter, Elizabeth Harris; her parents; and sister, Lorene Archer.
Funeral services and interment for Wanda Rosella Stirniman will be held privately.
