Juvencio Hernandez

Obituary of Juvencio Hernandez

Juvencio Hernandez, our beloved husband, father, and abuelito (grandfather), was taken from us suddenly on Monday, March 18, 2019.

The son of Juventino Hernandez and Catalina Avila, Juvencio was born on January 25, 1940, in Estado De Mexico, Toluca, Mexico.  He completed his education in Mexico where he began his career in business in the transportation industry with COVE.  After coming to the United States in 1979, he worked many years as a custodian and a machinist, and later, joined his son in a successful business, marketing and selling health products.

Juvencio lived for his family, loved chasing after his grandchildren, and treasured watching them play.  He also loved soccer and was an avid fan of his beloved Club Deportivo, Chivas de Guadalajara.  He enjoyed playing the lottery and believed strongly in staying physically fit, despite his love for fresas con crema, pan, “nieve,” and Pepsi.  He also enjoyed gardening, and his legacy will live on in the trees he planted in each of his children’s yards.

His selflessness and generosity will never be forgotten by his family and friends.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 53 years, Cristina Petra Hernandez-Linos, his devoted children, Juan, Cesar, Hector, Miguel, his daughters-in-law, Ana, Stephanie, Janie, and Lavelle, and his adoring grandchildren, Kristian, Adriana, Orion, Biviana, Nina Catalina, Noe, and Bebe Lindo-Ector.

A Celebration of Juvencio’s life will be held Sunday, March 24, 2019, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Banquet Hall, 205 E. Jackson Street, Joliet, IL 60432.  The services will commence at 2:45 p.m., beginning with a prayer and blessing of the food at 3:00 p.m., followed by a celebratory reception until 6:00 p.m.

Fred C. Dames Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.  For more information, please call (815) 741-5500 or visit his Memorial Tribute at www.fredcdames.com
