Yesterday, I just received word from Ed’s daughter that he had passed away. Now that I have had time to gather my thoughts, I would like to leave a few words. I first met Ed in 2009 and it is hard to believe it has been 10 years. Although we have not spoken in the past few years, the time that I did know him, he always had a smile on his face and that chuckle which followed the end of each sentence. I know I am not alone when I say you easily warmed the hearts of others. In my eyes, Ed was a selfless man who enjoyed the company of his family and others. What I treasure the most is that Ed did not hesitate to welcome me into his life. While I never got to say goodbye, I never forgot you. I find comfort knowing Ed is no longer suffering, and he is with his love, Lillian holding and caressing her hand. I will close by saying, Thank you, Ed for letting me be a part of your life, you are a remarkable person. Today, I smile because it's comforting to know that I was a part of your life and although you are gone, you will remain not only in my thoughts, but also in my heart.
