Dear family,
I am sorry to hear about Judy's decease a week ago. My memory goes back to that Saturday morning in summer 1997 when I phoned John and Judy from Ohare Airport, introduced myself as a far away cousin from Europe, and said that I was passing Joliet within an hour or so. They had no knowledge of my existence whatsoever, but readily invited me to visit them. Soon we sat in their kitchen, telling stories, behaving as if we knew each other for many years, and eating Judy's bakery, doubtless prepared in the hour that took me to drive there. They were receiving me most cordially. In the years that followed I was in contact with them via e-mail in order to exchange important events in the family. I remember Judy as a warm-hearted woman. I wish the family strength in bearing this loss.
