Vince,
My husband and I lost a father and a sister in the past few months, so we know the sorrow you and your family are sharing right now. Our warmest condolences go out to you and your family during these very difficult days. Keep those wonderful memories close to your heart and your dad will always be with you.

There's so many memories I have of my grandpa. I can't believe this happened. My heart is broke. I'll always remember fishing with him and him telling me to kiss the fish. I love you grandpa.

My Dad was a great man and father. He worked hard his whole life to support his family but He was never too busy to spend time with his kids and play a game of football or whiffle ball. He was never too busy to teach us how to fix something or fix it for us. He was always there for me. He guided me through tough times and laughed with me in good times. I had so many good times and good talks with him. I will miss cooking him breakfast and frying fish for him. He was the heart of our family and we will all miss him dearly.

I didn’t know Jim very well. I met him as well as other family members at gatherings at his youngest daughter’s, Cheryl, and son-in-law’s, Joe Christian. Joe is my nephew. I appreciated that Jim and I were the only White Sox supporters in a sea of Cubs fans. When I informed my son, Don, of Jim’s passing, I was surprised by his reaction. “I’m really going to miss talking to him.” Anyone who knows Don would be surprised too. He is usually not much of a communicator. Jim had a gift of drawing him out of his shell and into conversation. He was a kind man who will be missed.

Always enjoyed family gatherings with Jim. He always had a good joke to share with us. Also, shared his love for a glass of port wine. He was a good man and will be greatly missed.

He always was the one who loved to take me fishing in Minnesota and when I came to visit him. I always loved going fishing with him because he didn’t mind taking the fish off of my hook when I was young and I was too scared to. He had the best jokes and pranks. He was such a fun loving and happy person and I’m so lucky that I got to call him my uncle and I got to have him in my life. I could text him updating him on what we were up to and he would call me and I would talk to him and aunt Doris on speaker phone for an hour or 2. Thanks for all of the memories Uncle Jim. We will always love you and we will miss you greatly. Love, Aaron, Olivia, Casimir, Raegan, and baby Brau

I’ll always remember all the fishing trips to Minnesota. He taught me how to fish and drive the boat years ago. He had such a great sense of humor and the goofiest jokes. I loved sitting around and listening to all the stories he told. I’ll cherish the memories forever.

There are to many good memories to name but some of the best always involves fishing. There was never a dull moment around him.
