Obituary of Christine Fenske

Christine M. Fenske nee Cowan Age 47, of Joliet, passed away suddenly, Saturday September 18, 2010, while participating in a 5k event benefitting her childrens school. She was born October 31, 1962 in Joliet to the late Theodore and Joyce (nee Esser) Cowan. Chris graduated from Joliet West High School with the class of 1980 and received a Bachelors degree from the University of St. Francis in 1985. On September 10, 1988, Chris was united in marriage to Michael Fenske at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband and her beloved children, Kelsey and Mitchell. Dear sister of Debra Bacharz of Joliet and Steven (Terri) Cowan of Shorewood. Cherished niece of Lee (Rose) Cowan of Hinckley, IL, Nola Greenen of Crest Hill; Allan (Jean) Esser of Fullerton, CA, June Andersen of Sacramento, CA and Gloria (Tom) Stumm of Richmond, VA. Fond daughter -in-law of Joan Fenske of Joliet; dearest sister-in-law of Jeanne (Michael) Ludwig of Appleton, WI, Nancy Kent of Aurora and Amy (Bart) Henke of Naperville. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Preceded in death by her parents as well as her father-in-law Arthur Fenske. Chris was employed at Professional Salon Concepts, a family operated company, in Rockdale. A member of the Visitation and Aid Society and the Cathedral of St. Raymond where she was an active volunteer. She also enjoyed the annual Relay for Life and various other community events. A selfless person, she will fondly be remembered as a wonderful wife and mother who loved people, her community and life itself. Laughter was commonplace, friendship was key, and family was paramount for Chris Cowan Fenske. She will be sorely missed. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 22, 2010, 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home to the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus would be appreciated. Visitation Tuesday 2-8 p.m. at: FRED C.
