Obituary of Carol Ann Soehnholz
Carol Ann Soehnholz, age 73, of Joliet, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 26, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 12, 1946 in Chicago to the union of John and Ottillie (nee Schneider) Dewitt. Carol grew up in Homewood, and relocated to Park Forest, before settling in Frankfort, where she raised her family.
Carol was a woman of faith who instilled her beliefs in her children and grandchildren. She was a devoted wife; she loved being a mother, and cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren. Spending time with her family was always the most important part of her life. She also enjoyed traveling with friends, and loved playing Bingo.
Carol is survived by her two children, Kim (David) Dunbar and Brian (Julie) Soehnholz; four grandchildren, Nathan, Marisa, and Emily Dunbar, and Kailun Zhou; and one brother, Richard DeWitt. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter D. Soehnholz (2003); her parents; and her brother, John DeWitt.
Funeral Services for Carol Ann Soehnholz will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at 11:30 a.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Interment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2019, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
