Obituary of Emilio Negron Cruz
Emilio Negron Cruz, age 87, currently of Joliet, and formerly of Chicago and Puerto Rico, passed away peacefully, Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Rock Run Place with his family by his side.
Born May 9, 1932 in Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Fermin Negron and Basilia Cruz. He worked as an auto mechanic, specializing in transmissions, having received training at Lincoln Tech.
He met the love of his life, Emilia Lopez Vazquez in Chicago, and they enjoyed 64 wonderful years of marriage, making their home in Chicago for 18 years, before returning to Puerto Rico where they lived until 2017, moving to Joliet two weeks before Hurricane Maria.
Emilio was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather who provided well for his family. He loved playing guitar and singing, especially Tangos, and music was an important part of family life.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Emilia of Joliet; two loving children, Lydia (Juan) Jimenez of Joliet, and Richard Negron of Miami, FL; four adoring grandchildren, Juan A. (Cynthia) Jimenez, II, Francisco (Jocelyn) Jimenez, Emily Negron and Richard Negron, Jr.; four dear great-grandchildren, Destiny, Alias, Elani and Julissa; and his dear brothers and sisters, Carmen, Josefina, Crucita, Bernardo and Rosa.
Visitation for Emilio Negron Cruz will be held Monday, September 16, 2019 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet, IL.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, Plainfield, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in St. Mary Immaculate Cemetery, Plainfield.

Emilio Negrón Cruz, de 87 años, actualmente de Joliet, y anteriormente de Chicago y Caguas, Puerto Rico, falleció pacíficamente el sábado 14 de septiembre de 2019 en Rock Run Place con su familia a su lado.
Nacido el 9 de mayo de 1932 en Caguas, Puerto Rico, hijo de los difuntos Fermín Negrón y Basilia Cruz. Trabajó como mecánico de automóviles, especializándose en transmisiones, habiendo recibido certificación de Lincoln Tech.
Conoció al amor de su vida, Emilia López Vázquez en Chicago, y disfrutaron de 64 maravillosos años de matrimonio, establecieron su hogar en Chicago durante 18 años, antes de regresar a Puerto Rico en 1969 donde vivieron hasta 2017 . Luego se mudaron a Joliet dos semanas antes del Huracán Maria.
Emilio era un esposo, padre y abuelo cariñoso y afectuoso que mantenía bien a su familia. Le encantaba tocar la guitarra y cantar, especialmente los tangos. La música era una parte importante de la vida familiar.
Sobreviven su amada esposa, Emilia de Humacao, Puerto Rico, actualmente de Joliet; dos hijos amorosos, Lydia (Juan) Jiménez de Joliet y Richard Negron de Miami, FL; cuatro nietos adorables, Juan A . (Cynthia) Jiménez, II, Francisco (Jocelyn) Jiménez, Emily Negron y Richard Negron, Jr .; cuatro queridos bisnietos, Destiny, Alayas, Elani y Julissa; y sus queridos hermanos y hermanas, Carmen, Josefina, Crucita, Bernardo y Rosa.
El velorio de Emilio Negrón Cruz se llevará a cabo el lunes 16 de septiembre de 2019 de 3:00 a 8:00 p.m. en la funeraria Fred C. Dames, 3200 Black Road, Joliet, IL. Los servicios fúnebres se llevarán a cabo el martes 17 de septiembre de 2019 a las 9:30 a.m. desde la capilla de la funeraria hasta la Iglesia Católica Santa María Inmaculada en Plainfield, donde se celebrará una Misa de Entierro Católico a las 10:30 a.m. Cementerio Mary Immaculate, Plainfield.
