Obituary of Larry Jerome Shanks

Larry Jerome Shanks, of Joliet, IL, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.  He was born and raised in Evansville, IN on October 9, 1948, the son of the late Clifford Jerome and Doris Jean (nee Lannan) Shanks, relocating to Posen, IL, and has been a resident of Joliet since 1999.  A graduate of Bremen High School Class of 1966, Larry was a proud veteran of the United States Army.  He was a member of AA-Tuesday Night Wanders #5 for 23 years.  Larry loved playing with his grandchildren, leather crafting and was an avid gardener.

Larry is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sandra Jean (nee Richardson) Shanks; two daughters, Jodi Lynn Helm of Joliet, IL and Jami Nikkole (Jose) Robles of Steger, IL; four grandchildren, Dakota Shanks, Gavin Robles, James Helm and Josie “Coco” Robles; his sister, Carolyn Logan of Evansville, IN; and his brother, Robert (Che Che) Morelos of IL.

Funeral Services for Larry Jerome Shanks have been held privately by the family.  As it was his request, cremation rites have been accorded.  In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to Alcoholics Anonymous would be appreciated.  Arrangements held under the direction of the Fred C.
