He was exactly what all the students at Minooka High School needed. I hope my children have a teacher that connects like Mr. Peterson did to students.

Coach Pete had a huge influence in my life as a young man, and I’m a better person for that . He was a winner in all aspects of life and will truly be missed especially that smile.

Tom was a teacher/coach and made sure all students worked to the best of their ability. He taught life lessons for students to use after time in his classroom and in athletics. Tom’s humor and care for others was always his way. I first met Tom in 2008 and over the years, I always enjoyed conversations with him. Tom was a good and decent man. My prayers go out to the Peterson Family.

Mr. Peterson was on the the best drivers Ed teachers, I could ever ask for at Minooka High School. He sure did brighten up your day when you walked in his classroom. He will be missed for sure.

Seems like just yesterday I saw you screaming at Tony LaRussa in the White Sox dugout. And you, me and Strait jumping the fence in Soldier Field to storm the field during a torrential rainstorm during the Pittsburgh Steelers vs. College All Stars game in 1976(?)....it was the last one they ever held. Guess we ruined it. Figures. Only us.
So many memories I'll never forget. I'll never forget you, Tom Peterson, and the joy you brought to so many people. Your laugh, your smile. You were the best, brother. I love you and always will.
And to the Peterson family: you are in our thoughts and prayers. Hopefully, knowing the joy and love Tom brought to so many people will help ease the pain. Know he will never - ever - be far from our thoughts. Thank you for sharing Tom with us.
