To All of the Nichols Family,
I am very sad to learn of Don's passing. He was a Great Man!
He was always so kind to me as well as all of your Family.
You will always be a very special Family to me!
Marilyn I have lost contact with you and have been wanting to get in touch for some time now.
There is now another Angel up in Heaven and he can now be with Jim.
My heart goes out to all of you at this difficult time.
Love and Prayers Denise

Don and Marilyn and I were friends as classmates at ISU, colleagues at Joliet East and West. I have many fond memories of Don, his sense of humor, fun at parties and gatherings. I greatly admired his skill as a teacher and AD (obviously since he was my first choice).
I was very saddened to learn of his passing and my heart goes out to his family with sincere sympathy.

Don was a tremendous teacher, coach and athletic director. He was a fantastic human being as he always set a great example for his students and Co- workers. God bless Don and his family. He’ll be missed for sure. RIP Don.

Marilyn and family, My deepest condolences. I was so honored to follow in Don’s footsteps as Athletic Director at Joliet West and they were big shoes to fill. Don taught me so much on how to be a good coach and athletic director . He couldn’t fix my golf swing though. Don you made a difference in so many lives for the better. You did for me. Thank You Kent Irvin

Pat & Bill Benner
We have such great memories of all the good times we shared with Don and Marilyn through the college years and beyond. Don and Bill were on ISU's (then ISNU) track team when Bill was a distance runner and Don was a hurdler and high jumper. Both were Smith Hall buddies and also both ended up teaching and coaching in the Joliet Township High Schools. We were saddened by his passing but so glad to have had him as part of our lives.

Marilyn and family, We were saddened last night to hear of Don’s death when Starkeys called us. We thought of the good times we shared in our euchre club (bantering & joking around), and we always knew that Don or Karen would win! It made no difference if we were in Monticello or Logansport, we shared lots of laughter during those years. Our thoughts & prayers are with all of you & may the peace of the Lord be with you. Sincere sympathy and love, Dave and Nancy Lapierre
