Obituary of Lillian A. Baran
Age 93, late of Joliet, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2020, at Sunny Hill Nursing Home of Will County. Lillian was born in Chicago, the daughter of the late Alexander and Victoria Oszczypinski. She graduated from Kelly High School in Chicago. Lillian was very artistic and her passions in life were painting and reading.
Survived by her five children, Leonard (Rhonda) Baran of Joliet, Patricia (Thomas) Miller of Naperville, Donald (Beth) Baran of Apple Valley, MN, Linda (Kip) Mullins of Atlanta, GA, and Jeffrey (Susan) Baran of West Bloomfield, MI; seven grandchildren, Scott Baran, Lisa Miller, Todd Baran, Kyle Baran, Matt Mullins, J.T. Mullins, and Brian Baran; seven great-grandchildren, Nick and Tyler Baran, Jacob and Ellie Sheldon, Briggs Baran, Penny and Oliver Mullins; three great-great-grandchildren, Luke, Annie, and Caleb Baran; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by her loving husband of 69 years, Leonard Baran (2013); her parents; daughter-in-law, Linda Baran; her grandson, Mark Baran; sisters, Jen Trembacz and Helen Cunico; and her brother, Marion Lance.
Visitation for Lillian A. Baran will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2020, from 8:30 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, until time of Chapel Prayers at 9:30 a.m. The Funeral Procession will continue to St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 15629 S. Rt. 59, Plainfield, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Memorials in her name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital would be appreciated.
