The staff and board of the Plainfield Public Library send our heartfelt condolences to the Krahn family. The Library was truly honored by Gwen's sincere passion and love of reading, children and her Plainfield Library. Gwen served faithfully on the Library Board for 19 years. The Krahns have always supported the Library and we are very grateful to them for that support over the many years. Thank you, Dick and Gwen. Rest in peace.

I knew Dick thru Mistwood, he was a one of kind. Always full of good stories and charm. I have missed seeing him on the golf course, the last few years. Prayers for the family as you mourn the loss of your dad! God Speed Dick!

What an amazing man! One of the kindest persons I have ever met. It was always a joy to be with Mr Krahn. We enjoyed times together at Mistwood Golf Club. He really loved to be around golf. God speed Mr Krahn, you will be missed by everyone at Mistwood, and by myself.

Dear Karen and Kurt,
I am so deeply sorry for the loss of Mr. Krahn. I have so many wonderful memories with Mr. and Mrs. Krahn who were more than neighbors and became family to our family. Mr. and Mrs. Krahn gave me so many special childhood memories that I will always cherish and share with my children. They were always my cheerleaders and welcomed me any day at any time on the back porch to talk and laugh. They were the absolute best. No one can ever replace Mr. and Mrs. Krahn in my heart and memories. May Mr. and Mrs. Krahn be united in heaven and going on another fun adventure together again. Sending you all my love and prayers.
Love, Sara Masciandaro

Bill and Laura Conrad posted a condolence

Dear Karen and Kurt,
We are very sorry for the loss of your father. Richard was a wonderful husband, father, and friend to all the Conrad’s. Your parents were the best neighbors! The day we moved to Bartlett was the beginning of a special friendship. Bill refers to your dad as “his best pal”. Laura found your mother and dad as part of her family. Your dad was a real gentleman and your mother was so fun and wise. Here’s hoping he and Gwen are together in an “everlasting” corvette convertible getting ready to go fishing. They were role models for us to enjoy life and be good to others.
Love,
Bill and Laura Conrad
