So sorry to hear about Auntie Joanie. Our parents always spoke so well of you and Uncle Ted & family.
It was you Auntie Joanie that my dad first nicknamed my wife and later we named our last daughter - Joni.
May God bless you all through this difficult time.

I will miss you Aunt Joanie. I remember your jokes and how you would make me laugh. We would go swimming at your house in Lisle. I was glad I was able to meet you and my parents at the casino a few times recently. That’s my last memory I’m very thankful for. God Bless.

It seems that my sister Joanie was my babysitter as we were growing up. She was 6 years older than me. I loved being with her and treasure all the memories I have. One particular memory I have is when I was 3 years old. I will never forget when Joanie and her friend, Mary Jo, had an idea to hop into a box car of a freight train to play house. After a while, the train started to move. As it started to go faster, they each took my hand and we jumped off and rolled down a hill. God must have sent angels to catch us as none of us got hurt. She may not be here now but I'll always feel her closeness.
Jim and I will miss taking Joanie to the casino and out to lunch and all the laughter we shared together.
Our hearts are broken as we know yours are with her loss. Please accept our deepest sympathies.
Love, Jim and Darlene Scales
