Oh Mom and Dad, how appropriate that you are reunited on May 8th !! Today is the 75th anniversary of VE Day !!
On May 8, 1945, the Allies accepted the unconditional surrender of Nazi Germany's armed forces. This was a holiday you both celebrated. The War brought you together and the 75th anniversary of the end of the war in Europe finds you together again.
