Kurt W. Field

Kurt W. Field, of Joliet, passed away at his home on Sunday, July 5, 2020, at the age of 59.  He was born on September 29, 1960, one of five kids; he was the son of the late Edgar and Amelia (nee Vincentini) Field. Kurt was born and raised in Bridgeview, IL and was a graduate of Argo High School, Class of 1978.   He was currently working as a Supervisor with Affiliated Alarm Systems and was formerly a proud Teamster with Consolidated Freights, working as a docksman loading semis.  

Kurt lived his life to the fullest.  He loved fast cars and motorcycles.  The typical “gear head”, he spent most of his time either on one of his Harley’s on an open road or in his garage. He enjoyed heading out in any direction and could find the best dive bars to enjoy a cold beer, good music, and interesting conversation.  No matter where he went, he had the personality to make friends by the time he left.   

Kurt is survived by his son, Justin (Christina) Field; daughter, Candace (Kyle) Griffin; one granddaughter, Adalynn Field, one grandchild on the way; his siblings, Jack (the late Julie) Field, Mike (Eva) Field, Jayme (Bob) White, and Marty (Julie) Field; and his devoted dog, “Brandy” and his parrot, “Marley”.   Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous friends also survive.  

He is preceded by his parents; and his aunt and uncle, Jenny and Richard Churlin.

A Memorial Gathering for Kurt W. Field will be held on Sunday, July 12, 2020, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, IL, from 3:00 p.m. until the Sharing of Memories at 5:00 p.m.  Interment will take place at a later date. In accordance with Illinois Phase 4 reopening protocols, we will be returning to more traditional visitation and funeral observances.
