Francis E. Furlane
"Frank"
Age 87, of Joliet, passed away unexpectedly, Friday November 21, 2008 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center. Born in Rockdale, IL., May 3, 1921, he was a longtime Joliet area resident. He also resided in Fox Lake for twenty years. Frank was a Tech Sergeant in the U.S. Army serving with the first engineers preceeding Patton's Army in the European Theatre up from France. He was a hard working man who worked for the City of Joliet as a foreman with the water department while also working for Weatherware, installing doors and windows. He often worked 6 days a week to afford his children a quality education and to also provide the good life for his family which was of great importance to him.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife Tosca M. (nee Cipriani) Furlane.
Beloved father of Laura (Jim) Kasper, Mark (Susan) Furlane, Debra (Dennis) Smagacz, Joyce (Jim) Appel and Scott (Mary Ann) Furlane. Proud grandfather of 13 and loving great grandfather of 4. Dear brother of Mayme (late Edward) Jackson and Josephine (Bill) Luksic. Also survived by his nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Francis E. Furlane will be Wednesday, November 26, 2008, 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home chapel to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church for Mass at 10:00 a.m. Entombment Resurrection Mausoleum. Visitation Tuesday, from 5-8 p.m. at:
