One of the brightest lights I've ever known -- Sophia Ratajczyk -- has traveled upwards to Heaven. Sophia was a special strong woman with a lovely soul. She always had a kind word for everybody, and laughed easily and often. I didn't know that by giving her massages to help her back feel better, I would be receiving the gentle caress of her loving presence. We had a half hour twice a week together. During that time, besides massage, we got to know each other. We watched mass together, told jokes, sang nursery songs, and I prompted Sophia to teach me some Polish so I could speak to her a little in her native language. She taught me several songs in Polish -- I will never forget her smile and laughter when we sang them together. I feel I have been blessed by her presence in my life, and I hope to emulate her sincerity, depth of faith, and cheerfulness in my own life. Knowing Sophia has been a great gift. I will miss her, and I will sing the "Zosha" (Sophia) song often in memory of her. I am wishing I could be with her family today. Sending you all warm wishes of comfort and blessings.
My Aunt Sophie was a kind and gentle lady with a big heart. She made everyone she met feel special. I was blessed to have her in my life / family. May her soul rest in peace and loving memories of her remain with us. Love, Ed and Christine Valentinas.
