Obituary of Nanette R. Petty

Nanette R. Petty, age 72, of Goose Lake Township, rural Coal City, passed away peacefully, Sunday, September 27, 2020 at home, with her loving family by her side.

Born March 23, 1948 in Eldorado, IL she was the daughter of the late Miller and Beverly (Tyner) Vaught, of Crest Hill and formerly of Enfield, IL.  She married Jack L. Petty, Sr., and they enjoyed 47 years of marriage until his passing on October 22, 2013.

Nanette was a homemaker while her family was young, and later worked as a beautician and for the Empress Casino in Joliet.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.  She loved her Goose Lake home where she was able to garden, tend to her flowers and watch the birds.

Surviving are her sons, Jack L. (Donna) Petty, Jr. of Diamond, and Ron Petty of Coal City; five grandchildren, Ashley (Chris) Reszel, Megan (Fiance Preston Hough) Petty, Ryan (Danielle) Petty, Alex (Brianna) Petty and Adam Petty; four great-grandchildren, Jacklyn, Addison and Beckett Reszel and Ava Petty; two sisters, Kathy (Jim) Tietz of Plainfield, and Karen (Tom) Flynn of Joliet; one brother, Miller (Denise) Vaught in Arkansas; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family and friends are invited to meet at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, (at Essington Road), Joliet on Friday, October 2, 2020 at 1:00 p.m., and to process together to Woodlawn Memorial Park I, Joliet, where graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m.
