Obituary of Ronald V. Brooks
Age 79 of Joliet, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2020, at Amita Health St. Joseph Medical Center. He was born in Wayside, IL, the son of the late Lawrence and Ruth (Maze) Brooks, and resided in Joliet most of his life. Ron graduated from Goreville High School and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He retired from Midwestern Gas in 2001. Ron was a true outdoorsman, he loved fishing and golfing.
Ron is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Rosemary (Rector) Brooks of Joliet; his daughter, Sheri Shlensky of Plainfield; his son, Jason (Erica) Brooks of Fishers, IN; five grandchildren Katelyn, Kailee, Jake, Karlie, and Aubrey; four great-grandchildren, Easton, Camden, Reese, and Averie; sister Dimple (Jim) Jeffrey of Herrin, IL; brother John (Betty) Brooks of Cave In Rock, IL; his sister-in-law, Debbie Brooks of Marion, Il; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother Donald Brooks.
Visitation for Ron will be Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet from 11:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park where Military Honors will be conducted by the U.S. Air Force.
