Margie was the absolutely best person I have ever known. I had the privilege of working with her at Washington Jr. High. As the team's 2 language arts teachers, we became close. Once when we attended a training session together. It was a long day. The highlight was a lovely lunch served in a "restaurant" container. Margie excused herself along with her lunch and left the building. She returned a bit later without her lunch. She said that when we arrived in the morning, she noticed a homeless person. She left to give him her own lunch. That was Margie.
This world has lost a truly remarkable, one of a kind, person. We will miss her ever present smile, but oh, how Heaven is being lit up right now with her radiant glow!

Margie was my favorite senior I took care of. She was so sweet, caring, loving, funny, appreciative, wonderful, beautiful angel!! I looked forward to seeing her everyday. She will be so very missed. She told me everyday that she wanted to go “home” to her Lord and Savior. She was an angel on earth. God Bless Margie!! My condolences for the family.

There are 3 things I remember about Sister Leo that I want to share with her family.
She taught me to play the ukelele and then the guitar. I used my guitar playing at many a liturgy and have always been most grateful to know how to play it.
The 2nd thing I remember is a true story.
I lived with Sister Leo in Birmingham AL. There was an announcement that there was to be a Halloween Party in the parish. Sister Leo said that we needed to get dressed up and go to the party in costume. So she and I would talk about what our costume would be. On the night of the party, I went upstairs and got into my costume. My name then was Sister Eva so I had cut out leaves and pinned them all around my habit and carried an apple! Sister Leo had not had any intentions of going to the party much less dressing up in a costume but since I was soooooo excited, she went upstairs and put something together and all you could see of her was her eyes which was how everyone recognized her. She was a joy to be around.
My 3rd experience that I would like to share is the Easter Egg Hunts that she planned in a very poor area of Birmingham. She let me help her each year. We would make an announcement in the neighborhood and on the Saturday before Easter, we would go to the area and "hide" Easter eggs and other candies and watch the children enjoy finding everything. She truly loved the Poor and shared everything she could with them

I am a dancer at Keigher Academy of Irish Dance. Growing up in the Keigher family we all got to know each other very well especially during March with shows every weekend. I always looked forward to shows because I knew Margie loved to come see us dance whenever she could. I never knew her very well but I would say hello to her and she would hold my hands in hers and tell me how beautiful I was and how beautiful our dancing was. She always made my day even if it was just a smile and a wave across the room. May she Rest In Peace with the same smile and happiness that will never be forgotten.
