Obituary of Mary Gesiakowski

Mary Gesiakowski Age 66, of Romeoville, passed away at home on her 49th wedding anniversary surrounded by her loving family following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born June 3, 1946 in Chicago, to the late Edward and Elsie (Hartel) Rice and was a 1964 graduate of Chicago Vocational High School. She retired from Dominicks as a Service Representative after 25 years of service. Mary was a beloved wife, loving mother, and devoted grandmother. She was a devout Catholic and served her church in many ministries including bereavement, Cursillo and as an Eucharistic Minister. Mary and Jerry divided their time between Romeoville and Ft. Meyers, FL in addition to traveling extensively. She was also an avid golfer, who had two (2) holes in one. Surviving are her husband, Gerald "Jerry" Gesiakowski of Romeoville; her children, Diane (Dan) Nowaczyk of Downers Grove and Robert (Lisa) Gesiakowski of Minooka; five grandchildren, Clayton, Dana, Carly, Paul and Kelly Nowaczyk; and many, many friends. Visitation will be Sunday, July 8, 2012 from 1-8 p.m. Funeral services will be Monday, July 9, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home to the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus for Mass at 9:30 a.m. Final interment will be in St. Cecelia's Church Sacred Garden in Ft. Meyers, FL. In lieu of flowers, a memorial to Joliet Area Community Hospice in her name would be appreciated. Arrangements by: FRED C.
