Dear Babcock Family,
My deepest condolences with the loss of your beautiful mother. I have many fond memories growing up in Joliet with your parents and their young family - first on Allen Street, Western Avenue, and Shorewood. I go way back because Uncle Marty was my uncle and my parents were Ed and Mayme Jackson on Buell Avenue. Those days seem like safe and uncomplicated days. I remember how your family added such joy to my dear Uncle Marty's life. Your mother is now in Heaven with the people she loved and looking down on all of you to guide and protect you all. Peace to all of you during these troubled times and your sorrow over the loss of your devoted mother.
Sincerely,
Mary Jackson Harter

Hi Jim. We haven’t had an occasion to speak in many years; however, I have very fond memories of your mother, father, grandfather and siblings. St Rays, growing up in the hood, watching SNL together when it was funny, and tips to Norte Dame with the sheriff, are all part of my formative years. My sincere condolences to you and your family on the passing of your Mother, Jim. You are in my prayers.
Bob Healy.

I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful mother.
Your mom and dad were some of our best friends while you kids were growing up.
I never forget the precious memories of picnics and boating on the KKK river.
Your Dad and Jer would sit at the picnic table with a bottle of scotch and kibitz.
And mom never let anyone go hungry.
Good times for so many years.
My heart and prayers go out to all of you.
I know you will miss her.
May she and your dad enjoy eternity together in the arms of our Lord and Savior.
Love Lynne

A dear family with whom we enjoyed many years of raising our children together on the Western-Campbell Streets neighborhood. Mary was at the heart of her family with boundless love and spirit in all she achieved. She and Jim were great models of parents to their kids and friends to us. ❤️

Mary was a wonderful, thoughtful and generous person. They came to Michigan for a visit, even though Jim, her husband was not feeling well. Mary went shopping that day, and she bought me a beautiful leaded crystal vase when she and Jim came to visit at our home. I love that vase and will cherish it always. I have tried to be more generous to others to emulate her free and open-arm spirit. Love to the Babcock family. What a great legacy Jim and Mary left to continue what they started.
