Obituary of Louis Lagger
LOUIS F. LAGGER
Louis Frank Lagger, age 82, of Joliet, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, November 25, 2020, at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home.
Born on July 23, 1938, in Joliet, he was the eldest son of six children to the late Edwin J. and Helene R. (nee Kramer) Lagger Sr. Lou attended Loyola University for two years but received his bachelor’s degree from Lewis University and his master’s degree from Northern Illinois University. He taught science at Taft School and A.O. Marshall in Joliet for a total of 32 years, retiring in 1993.
Lou was a generous man, an avid reader, a stock market enthusiast, and a spellbinding storyteller to family members and students alike. He will be deeply missed.
Preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Ed and Tom in 2018, Lou is survived by his son Scott (Jane) and grandchildren Sam, Emma and Ted. Brother John and sisters Debbie and Vicki also survive him, along with sisters-in-law Pat and Jeanne and brothers-in-law Les and Paul. Several nephews, nieces and numerous cousins also survive.
Private burial services were held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
