Obituary of Juana Contreras
Juana (Oceguera) Contreras, passed away peacefully at Silver Cross Hospital on Monday, December 7th, 2020 at the age of 87.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Alfredo E. Contreras (2004); her parents, Emilia and Alejandro Oceguera; her daughter, Maria; and her brothers and sisters, Jose, Gilberto, Ubaldo, Luis, Santos, Jesus, Eliodoro, Maria, Enedina, and Ruben Oceguera.
Juana is survived by her devoted children, Enedina (Salvador) Mata, Hermila (Rodney) Payne, Israel (Angelica) Contreras, Gonzalo Contreras, Jesus (Elva) Contreras, Domingo (Carmen) Contreras, Emilia (Venancio) Ramirez, and Bertha (Robert) Dominguez; her loving grandchildren, Carlos, Jaime, Mayra, Angelica, Maricela, Jose A., Jesus, Gerardo, Jessica, Cristal, Alejandro, Elizabeth, Veronica, Vanessa, Domingo Jr., Valerie, Erika, Miguel, Yulissa, Olivia and Jayden; 28 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Juana enjoyed spending time gathered by her children and three generations of grandchildren. She also enjoyed watching soccer and telenovelas. Juana had a love for flowers, especially red ones, and loved displaying them on her front porch.
She was the most kind-hearted, loving, and hardworking woman who always put her family first. She always had a catch phrase no matter the situation good or bad, and always had a home remedy ready for any sickness.
She was proud of her kids and everything they’ve accomplished. She was always there cheering on her grandchildren in all of their sport and academic achievements and was proud to display their successes and celebrate their achievements.
Juana was a force of nature and to know her was to love her. Even in the darkest of times she always found the light and she always portrayed that to her children and grandchildren. She was a great mother, grandmother, friend, sister, and wife, who was truly the greatest example of a woman and a role model for the entire family.
