Leland Arnold Petrie Jr.

           ”Lee”

Age 78, of Joliet, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at Victorian Village in Homer Glen, IL.  He was born November 4, 1942, the son of the late Leland Sr. and Lydia (Mulenbeck) Petrie.  Lee worked for National Cash Register for 30 years until he retired in 1993, he then worked a few years for RDS and then for Neal Houlbolt for a couple of years.  As a young adult, he began collecting and repairing old tube radios.  Lee could make anything work from old Cushman scooters, bikes, old jukeboxes, and tube radios.  Lee’s mother always said, “Lee can make things all better”.  He also loved to travel and especially camping in their old motor home.  He will be greatly missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Lee is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marilyn, whom he married on January 22, 1966; his daughter, Tamara (Robert) Lambert; his son, Tad (MaryBeth) Petrie; six grandchildren, Erin, Ashley, Joshua, Jordan, Alexandra, Abby, and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded by his parents.

Visitation for Lee Petrie will be Sunday, December 27, 2020, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd.
