Obituary of Boniface Bargas
Age 84 of Joliet, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at his late residence surrounded by the love of his family. He was born in Joliet and was a lifelong resident. Barney graduated from Joliet Township High School. He served 9 years and 10 months in the U.S. Navy as a Corpsman during the Vietnam War, setting up blood banks and running labs aboard ship. He enjoyed family and sports, especially basketball. He worked at Caterpillar Tractor for 32 years after the Navy, retiring in 1999.
Barney is survived by his wife, Janice “Kay” Bargas; daughters, Tracy L. (Paul) Bradac and Katherine L. (Michael) Kinn; grandchildren, Sean Kinn, Lexi Jasko, Noah Jasko, Dominic and Ava Bradac; and his “second” heartbeat, Katie Jasko. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
He is preceded by his parents, Abel and Senovia (nee Ortiz) Bargas; brothers, Thomas, Joseph, Samuel and Raymond Bargas; sisters, Juanita Bargas, Mary Bargas and Betty Johnson; and daughter, Cindy L. Bargas.
