Obituary of Robert C. Villa

Age 46, of Joliet, IL passed away unexpectedly Sunday morning, January 3, 2021 at Amita Health St. Joseph Medical Center.

He was born May 10, 1974 in Mexico to the late Delfina (Cardenas) and Enrique Villa and was raised in California. He has resided in the Joliet area for the past 15 years.

Survived by his loving fiancée, Janet Hughes; beloved son, Jason Villa; dear father, Enrique (Delfina) Villa; his brothers, Frank (Ozzie) Villa, Jorge Villa and sister, Esmeralda (Adan) Martinez.  Several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.

Preceded in death by his mother, Delfina Cardenas Villa.

Robert was a self-taught diesel mechanic who worked for NFI in Channahon, IL. He truly enjoyed his occupation and co-workers. A loyal fan of the San Francisco 49ers, he always looked forward to football season.

Visitation for Robert will be held at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd) Joliet on Monday, January 11, 2021 from 2-4 p.m. Facemasks and distancing are required as well as capacity restrictions. As it was Robert’s wish cremation rites will be accorded.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to support the research of Down Syndrome would be appreciated.
