Obituary of Ruth W. Johnson
“Bobo”
Ruth W. Johnson passed away, peacefully April 8, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on May 14, 1937, in Springfield, IL to the late John and Gertrude Clark.
Ruth led her life guided by her strong faith. Her love and devotion to family and friends was inspirational. If you were lucky enough to know Bobo, you know how special she made you feel. Bobo made people feel beautiful inside and out. She was a beautician for more than forty years. Her two hair salons, both named Affair with Hair, first in Chatham, IL and then here in Morris not only provided hair care but friendship.
She and her husband, Bob, loved to travel, spend time on their boat and especially loved time with their friends and family. Together they built a wonderful family, often referred to as the “Johnson Bush”. Bobo’s friends were very important to her. She enjoyed spending time with her Walker Talker Group, Dominonoes Divas, card group, and time on her patio with friends.

Ruth is survived by her children, Timothy (Roxanna) Seifert of Auburn,IL, Cindy (John) Purdue of LaCrescent, MN, and Nancy (Brian) Foy of Richmond, VA; son-in-law Rick (Jan) Carlson; her 12 grandchildren Jorden (Christopher) Heaton , Weston (Cathryn) Seifert, Jason (Kasey) Purdue, Eric Perdue, Chris (Laura) Purdue, Jacque (Kevin) Holman, Chad (Sarah) Zalesiak, Mark Zalesiak, Jake (Christine) Carlson, Drew (Chelsie) Carlson, Lauren Yearwood, and Tyler Ferguson; 12 great grandchildren Jaxon, Colton, Stevie Jo, Indie, Cal, Payton, Murphy, Lizzie, Jack, Avery, Brie, and David; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded by her husband, Robert “Bob” Johnson; her daughter Traci Carlson; four brothers, Carl, Bill, Elmer, and Paul Clark; and her sister Barb Hopper-Harris.
Memorials in her name can be made to the New Community Christian Church 3 Building Fund.
Funeral arrangements for Ruth W.
